How wide of a tire can I fit on my bike rim?
Most road bike frames can accommodate a tire as wide as about 28mm. Cyclocross and touring bikes are generally designed to accommodate wider tires. We recommend 23mm and 25mm wide tires for recreational road cyclists.
Can I put a wider tire on my bike rim?

You would have no problem with a 10.5 tire on the 8″ wheel. Not sure what size the stock TJ wheels are, but folks put all the way up to 12.5s on the stock JK wheels which are 7.5″ wide.

Is a 28 inch tire the same as 700c?
A 28″ tire is not the same size as 700c. 28″ is slightly larger than 700c maybe less than half an inch in diameter. Since this amount is insignificant in size of tire; people may install 700c tires on 28″ rim and vice versa.
Are wider motorcycle tires safer?

Will a 2.125 tire fit a 1.75 rim?
They should fit with no problems. When I was a kid, a lot of us into BMX all ran 20 x 1.75 rims, but the front tire would be a 2.125 and the rear was a 1.75.
Can I use 235 tires instead of 225?
Yes…that size will work 100% perfectly, as it is the exact same diameter as the 225/75-16. 235/70-16 is actually a shorter tire.
Can I change tire size without changing rims?
It’s possible to change the size of your tires without actually changing the diameter. One example is if you want larger rims – you can buy tires that compensate for the larger rims by reducing the “height” of the outer tire.
